The candidates have to undergo the prescribed training. However as there is an acute shortage of Inspectors of Posts, the Circle may straight away issue appointment letters to the candidates soon after completon of the pre-appointment formalities so that they can join. The Circle should depute the candidate so appointed for training as soon as the slots become available in the PTCs. Pending their training, the Circle may issue their posting orders and commence their field attachments by attaching them with ASPs/SPOs. Till the candidates are trained by PTCs , they may not be detailed on sensitive assignments or where they are required to exercise administrative powers. They can be utilized as CIs or for other staff functions under effective supervision of DO/RO/CO. In case there is inordinate delay in their training and the competent authority in the Circle statisfies himself the such Inspectors of Posts could be entrusted with selective responsibility, services of such Inspectors of Posts may be utilized by the Circle accordingly.
