With reference to your letter dated 18.10.2011 addressed to DG, Deptt.of Post, New Delhi it is submitted that a clarification on the same issue was given to the Association vide Dte letter no.9-36/92-SPG dated 23-08-1994 (copy attached). Wherein it was clarified that since the decision to fill up certain percentage of the post of Postal Supdt./Postmaster Group 'B' from out of the post earmarked for being filled from the Inspector line officials, for the said examination also, all official born on the gradation list for the purpose of promotion to Postal Service Group 'B' through DPC, inspector/ASP & HSG I officials from the inspector line are eligible provided they have put in ive year regular service in the inspector line.
In this respect it is also submitted that if ASP cadre is not permitted to appear in Senior Postmaster's examination then a separate gradation list for ASP cadre on All India basis should be prepared for promotion in Postal Supdt./Postmaster Group 'B' through DPC.
