The Department of Information Technology,( DIT)
under Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has been renamed as
Department of Electronics and Information Technology ( DeitY).
The rechristening of the Department of Information
Technology (DIT) as Department of Electronics and Information Technology
(DeitY) is ceremonially formalized at the hands of Sri Kapil Sibal , Minister
of Communications and Information Technology) on 19.04.2012 at
Electronics Niketan, New Delhi .
